Design requirements
Submitted articles for publication must contain the results of scientific research in the fields of agricultural biotechnology, agronomy, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, and digital agriculture. Articles are selected based on the relevance and novelty of the scientific issues addressed.
Submitted materials are checked in the Anti-Plagiarism system. The recommended article length, including appendices, should be at least 10 and no more than 14 pages. Articles must be prepared on A4 sheets, font – Times New Roman, size – 14 pt, line spacing – 1.0. Margins: top and bottom – 2 cm, left – 3 cm, right – 1.5 cm, paragraph indent – 0.5 cm (do not use spaces), format – portrait.
If the article has been or will be submitted to another publication, the editorial office must be informed.
Article formatting
- In the upper left corner, without indentation, the UDC of the article is printed (verify the UDC on the website of the All-Russian Institute of Scientific and Technical Information – VINITI).
- Below, centered, the title of the article is printed in bold uppercase letters (the title should reflect the main idea of the study and be as concise as possible).
- Then, in bold lowercase letters, the initials and surname(s) of the author(s) are given. One line is skipped.
- Next, the author’s affiliation is indicated, including the city and country.
- After that, separated by a space, the article abstract is provided (recommended length – 200–250 words). It should reflect the topic, value, novelty, main provisions, and conclusions of the research using quantitative data. The abstract must not be divided into paragraphs or contain introductory words and phrases. It must be understandable without referring to the full text. Based on the abstract, the reader should be able to determine whether to consult the full article.
- From a new paragraph – keywords (no more than 9 words).
On the left, in lowercase letters, “Keywords:” is printed (without quotation marks), followed by keywords or phrases separated by commas. One line is skipped.
- When writing a scientific article, the following structure must be followed: “Introduction”, “Conditions, Materials and Methods”, “Results and Discussion”, “Conclusions”.
- If the article was prepared within a grant and it is necessary to indicate this source, add a section “Information on the Source of Funding” after the conclusions. For example: Information on the source of funding: The work was carried out under state R&D assignment No. 0477–2019–0005 with financial support from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
In the “Introduction” section, the problem statement is presented, the aim of the work must be formulated and justified, and, if necessary, its connection with important scientific and practical areas is considered. A theoretical justification of the research is provided. References to recent publications in the field, including foreign authors, must be included.
In the “Conditions, Materials and Methods” section, the features of the study are described, including conditions, materials, and research methods. The study location must be specified down to the region (krai). The time, place, methodology, and experimental conditions must be reflected.
The main section, “Results and Discussion”, is devoted to the presentation, analysis, and discussion of the results. The obtained results must be highlighted in terms of their scientific novelty and compared with relevant known data.
In conclusion, conclusions and recommendations are presented.
Subheadings and headings are typed in bold with a capital letter. References to the bibliographic list in the text are numbered in the order of citation. References are given in square brackets, for example: [1].
- After the main text of the article, one line is skipped and the title “Literature” is printed in the center (without quotation marks). After one line, a numbered list of sources is placed in the order of references in the text. The reference list (at least ten sources, including at least three foreign sources) must be formatted in accordance with GOST R 7.0.5–2008 and the journal’s requirements, carefully checked by the authors, and placed at the end of the article. References are numbered in the order of their mention in the text. Only one source may be indicated per list item. Self-citation abuse is not allowed. The share of references to the authors’ own publications must not exceed 25% of the reference list. Citations of works by any single author who is not a member of the manuscript’s author team must also not exceed 25%. It is recommended to cite no more than 2 publications by each author. The share of references older than 10 years must not exceed 25% of the reference list, and the share of references to journals from the RSCI core over the past 8 years must be at least 50%. References to textbooks, manuals, and dissertation abstracts are not accepted. References to conference materials older than 2 years are also not accepted. The number of sources in “serial” references must not exceed three.
All sources must be cited in the text of the article.
- Information about the authors: Full name – academic degree, academic title, position, department or division, full name of the organization (with exact address), e-mail, ORCID of the author.
- Conflict of interest information. The article must indicate any real or potential conflict of interest. If there is no conflict of interest, the author must state: “The author declares no conflict of interest.”
- Authors’ contribution. The contribution of each author to the preparation and writing of the article must be specified using CRediT (CRediT author statement, in Russian).
- Then, information is printed in English: article title, abstract, keywords.
- A bibliographic list is provided in Latin script (transliterated) under the heading References. (Only article titles are translated; the rest is given in Latin transliteration.)
- “Authors:” – information in English.
Illustrations (if any) must be provided in JPEG, PNG, or TIF format, be clear, of good quality, and clearly illustrate the text. The text must contain references to all figures. Figures are numbered in the order of citation in the text. The numbering caption is centered. The thematic caption follows on the same line immediately after the numbering caption (for example: Fig. 1 –). References to figures are given in parentheses: (Fig. 1). If there is only one figure, it is not numbered.
Tables must be prepared in WORD. Tables are numbered in the order of citation in the text. The text must contain references to all tables. The numbering caption is centered (for example: Table 1. …). References to tables are given in parentheses, for example: (Table 1). If there is only one table, it is not numbered.
Simple formulas that do not contain special characters (not available on the keyboard) must be typed using keyboard characters without special editors. Formulas containing special characters, as well as complex and multi-line formulas, must be typed entirely in Microsoft Equation 2.0, 3.0, or MathType. It is not allowed to type part of a formula using keyboard characters and part using a formula editor. Inserting formulas as images is not recommended. References to formulas are given in parentheses, for example: (1). The text must contain references to all formulas. If formulas are numbered, numbering must be done manually. Automatic numbering is not allowed.
Authors must submit to the editorial office (simultaneously):
– an electronic version of the article (by e-mail: agrobiotech@kazgau.com). The file name must include the first author’s surname;
– information about the authors (electronic form): full name, academic degree, academic title, position, department or division, contact address, phone, e-mail, full organization name, ORCID; the same information in English;
– accompanying documents:
a) license agreement granting rights to use the scientific article, signed by all authors;
c) cover letter signed by all authors.
Articles received and accepted for publication are not returned.
If the formal requirements are met, the manuscript is reviewed according to the established review procedure. The decision on publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief (Deputy Editors) and, if necessary, by the Editorial Board as a whole.
The editorial office reserves the right not to register articles that do not meet these requirements, as well as the right to reproduce materials without limiting the print run.
