Abstract

The variability coefficients of milk productivity indicators of cows in the 1st and 3rd lactations of Blackand-White and Kholmogory breeds were determined and analyzed taking into account different genotypes for the kappacasein (CSN3) and somatotropin (GH) genes. High variability is manifested in the group of first-calf heifers with AA and AB genotype of kappa-casein, and in cows in the 3rd lactation, high variability is observed in the level of milk fat (11.08%) and milk protein (10.36%) in the group with the CSN3 BB genotype. According to the somatotropin gene, high values of the productivity level variability coefficient, such as milk yield (8.61-8.63%), milk fat content (9.26-9.61%) and protein content (8.41-9.17%) were found in black-and-white cattle in the first lactation with the L allele of the somatotropin gene, and in the group of animals from the third lactation, a large variability value is characteristic of cows carrying the V allele of the somatotropin gene. Kholmogory first-calf heifers with the heterozygous VL genotype exceed the homozygous VV group in the amount of milk fat by 6.80% (p> 0.95) and milk protein by 6.15% (p> 0.95). For full-grown animals with the V allele of the GH gene, higher coefficients of variability of milk yield (7.21-7.79%), milk fat yield (8.26-8.41%), milk protein yield (8.85-9.33%), and milk protein content (2.36%) were characteristic. When comparing the two breeds, the highest values of productivity variability were found in Kholmogory first-calf heifers. Thus, in groups with a large number of adult individuals containing the B allele of the kappa-casein gene and the V allele of the somatotropin gene in their genotype, more effective selection work for the level of milk productivity is possible.
